Natabhushana Soban Babu wishes Dr.A.N.R. on his 60th Birthday!

Superstar Krishna- The Statesman!

The man who clearly drew a line between his professional aspirations and personal likings. The man who would try his best to maintain cordial relations with others while going flat out to do things he believed. He is none other than our beloved Superstar Krishna and the ad below reiterates that he was a Statesman par excellence! He clearly had no reason to issue this ad because the bridge was already burnt by then but he still tried.

When A.N.R. failed as a Statesman!

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”

Padmavibhushan Akkineni Nageswara Rao probably would have ignored this cardinal rule of life and refused to attend the opening ceremony of Superstar Krishna’s “Devadasu“. Interestingly, A.N.R. sought the support of Shri Chittoor Nagaiah, when he was remaking the thespians’ “Bheedalapatlu“, which is based on the famous play “Les Miserables“. B.Vittalaacharya selection of subjects intrigues me because the creative film maker stepped out of his comfort zone-folklore films-and chose soft subjects for his home-productions.

Release day ad of “Raamaalayam”(1971)!

Chiranjeevi in and as “Kodama Simham”!

  • Rare instance of two stalwarts of South Indian cinema acting in a film with the same title-Padmalaya Movies “Maaveeran” with Rajnikanth was dubbed into Telugu as “Kodama Simham
  • M.G.R.’s blockbuster “Adimai Penn” was dubbed into Telugu as “Kondaveeti Simham“. Years later, the same title was used by Roja Movies for their second film with NTR and Raghavendra Rao in 1981.
