Total Recall!

“Bhalee Mithrulu”!

After his riveting performance as Inspector Vyaas in the film “Terror”, Bhanuchander got another super success as “Bhaleemithrulu” through the same banner. Anand Babu’s dances were a special attraction in the film. Mid-way through the film he looses both his legs and i vividly remember him riding a bike by laying on it.  Had a direct 50 plus days running at Kalyani A/C in my hometown Nellore.

Jayadaanandha Naayaka!

Hamsaladweevi action episode in Jaya Jaanaki Naayaka…..one of the best in recent times. Rakul Preet Singh did a great job. But it is the fight that lingers in your mind after you come out. I make it a point to watch these types of movies alone in Stand alone theatres like HITech as the pulling crowds can enrich your watching experience manifold. 2 minutes of non-stop whistling for the action sequence is just a case in point. Bellam Konda Srinivas……keep trying. Hard work will eventually pay. You have an assured patron in me.minutes of non-stop whistling for the action sequence is just a case in point. Bellam Konda Srinivas……keep trying. Hard work will eventually pay. You have an assured patron in me. Jagapathy Babu is getting repetitive. Suman, I think, should stop accepting in such undignified roles. But is Devisri’s music that was a big let down as far as this movie is concerned. 2 or 3 goods songs would have taken the film to a different range.

A tale of two flops!

Superstar Krishna’s “Bhalee Mosagaadu” and Natabhushana Sobhan Babu’s “Saanthi Nilayam” were both released in 1972 and both did not fare well at the box-office. However,  even when Sobhan Babu was at the pinnacle of his career in 1975, the former was re-released in more number of theatres than the latter. This speaks something about the charisma of Superstar Krishna.

The novel that inspired “Veta”!

Samyukta Arts “Veta” was inspired by a famous novel from Alexander Dumas’ called “The Count of Monte Cristo“. Jaggayya acted as the prisoner who helps Chiru escape from the Andaman prison. The reputed French author was fairly known to some Telugu audience even before this film as the super hit film “Aggi Pidugu” and its predecessor “Apoorva Sahoodarulu” were inspired by his novel called “The Corscican Brothers”.
