Brothers’ getting separated at birth and re-uniting towards the end of the movie to kill the villains was one of the successful doctrines of Indian cinema. But the iconic Gemini Movies’ took the concept further and made “Apoorva Sagodharagal” (1949) by adopting Alexander Duma‘s novel on identical twins The Corscian Brothers. The film, apparently, was such a big huge hit at the Tamil Box-office that the makers retained the cast-M.K.Radha and P.Bhanumati-for the Telugu version “Apoorva Sahoodarulu”.  13 Years later, Vittalaacharya re-made this film as “Aggi Pidugu” (1964) with N.T.R. in the lead and it was then dubbed into Tamil as “Veeraadhi Veeran”. M.G.R., then played the roles of identical twins in” Neerum Neruppum” (1971), which was a moderate success at the box-office.
